DIAMONDS aren't for ever after Barclays' Bob jumped before he was pushed - a banker forced to recognise the game was up.

Hopefully the fallen Master of the Universe will reveal all and name names today if others were involved in a huge financial scandal against the interests of the British public.

Barclays is the first bank in the firing line but it won't be the last when a rotten can of worms has been opened with the interest rate fixing scandal.

Ordinary people in the wider economy have lost jobs, endured squeezed livelihoods, suffered slashed public services, because of a corrupt financial system. The pain has started and sadly will get horribly worse.

David Cameron resisting a full, independent, judge-led inquiry is a Tory leader siding with an establishment of which he is part.

The Prime Minister is tainted by the dodgy bankers he safeguards.
