CallWave Expands Distribution of Visual Voicemail Widget to the Apple(R) Dashboard.
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- CallWave, Inc. (NASDAQ:CALL) today announced the industry's first Visual Voicemail widget for the Apple Dashboard - a free, desktop-based application enabling users to see and hear their mobile phone voicemail messages right on their computer.
"We believe widgets are a great way to introduce Mac[R] users to CallWave's services, which establish the computer as a natural companion to the mobile phone," said David Hofstatter, Chief Executive Officer for CallWave. "Our Visual Voicemail widget does just that - it uses the desktop for easy mobile phone voicemail management, much like Apple iTunes uses the computer for easy iPod music management. Our Web 2.0 Visual Voicemail solution is now available at Apple's web site - giving consumers even more access to this simple-to-adopt, innovative new service."
CallWave's Visual Voicemail widget provides a visual notification when new messages arrive, whether a user's handset is nearby or not. With this widget running on the Apple Dashboard, users can view details on new voicemails, including message lengths and the time when each call was received. Users can then choose which message to listen to first.
About the CallWave Visual Voicemail Widget
The CallWave Visual Voicemail widget is the simplest way to experience CallWave's Visual Voicemail solution and elevates mobile phone voicemail management to new levels of ease. The service enables users to view their list of mobile voicemail messages and then sort, prioritize and listen to these messages, right from their computer - without switching service providers, purchasing a new handset or changing their mobile phone number. When not at the computer, users are notified of mobile voicemail messages via a detailed SMS sent to the handset. Users can still check voicemail from their mobile phone.
The Visual Voicemail service is currently available on most service providers' networks including Cingular[TM], Verizon[TM] and T-Mobile[TM], and over 30 others nationwide.
