Call for road repairs.

RESIDENTS are being asked to support road resurfacing.

Lib-Dem councillors are gathering signatures for a petition demanding action over potholes in Dalton and Moldgreen.

Clr Roger Battye, who represents the area on Kirklees, is worried about the state of roads in the area of Dalton known as The Lakes.

He said: "Patch-up work is coming apart at the seams, leaving the roads with potholes and collapsed areas.

"People may trip on the uneven surface. I've also seen drivers swerving round potholes, which increases the chance of a head-on collision."

Fellow Dalton Lib-Dem councillor Rochelle Parchment is also worried about the potholes on Bowness Drive, Buttermere Drive, Coniston Avenue, Derwent Drive, Alma Drive, Patterdale Drive, Rydal Drive, Kirkstone Avenue and Langdale Drive.

She said: "The state of the roads is something people in The Lakes have raised with me on a regular basis. We hope to gather a great deal of signatures and present them to Kirklees."
