California Assemblyman Chuck DeVore, Candidate for United States Senate in 2010 against Barbara Boxer, endorsed by Sen. Tom McClintock, other prominent Republicans.
IRVINE, Calif. -- Chuck DeVore, a California lawmaker who represents 500,000 people in coastal Orange County, today announced several key endorsements of his candidacy for the United States Senate seat currently held by liberal Democrat Barbara Boxer. Boxer's term is up in 2010. The list of GOP endorsements includes State Senator, and now U.S. Representative-elect, Tom McClintock, a leading voice among California conservatives, former Senate Republican Leader Dick Ackerman, and Board of Equalization Member and former legislator, Bill Leonard.
Assemblyman Chuck DeVore said, "I am honored to have the support of so many of my colleagues. We worked together to stop billions of dollars in new taxes on working Californians and to slow the rate of government spending growth - their public support of my effort to get California working again through greater domestic energy production, including nuclear power and oil, and pro-growth tax policies means a lot to me."
Other elected Republican officials endorsing DeVore for the U.S. Senate include: Assemblywoman Shirley Horton, Assemblyman Guy Houston, Assemblyman Rick Keene, Assemblyman Doug LaMalfa, Assemblyman Bill Maze, Assemblyman Alan Nakanishi, Assemblywoman Sharon Runner, and Assemblyman Todd Spitzer. DeVore for California campaign officials said additional endorsements will be announced in December.
