Calgenex Corporation Founded to Address Problem of Soft Tissue Calcification; Newly Formed Company to Offer Nutraceutical, Drug and Personal Care Products.

TAMPA, Fla. -- Grant Carlson today announced the formation of Calgenex Corporation, a manufacturer and marketer of dietary supplements, topical over-the-counter (OTC) drugs, and personal care products specially formulated to combat the effects of soft tissue calcification and inflammation. Calgenex is one of the only companies in the world to address this pervasive yet often ignored medical condition.

Defined as "the calcification of tissues other than bone and teeth," soft tissue calcification is the abnormal hardening or thickening of tissue into a bone-like material sometimes referred to as hard plaque, stones, or calcified deposits. While literally hundreds of studies have been published on the subject, many people are unaware of the impact calcification plays in the health and quality of life for millions of people.

Research has revealed that soft tissue calcification is often associated with cell death and can affect or damage vessels, tissues, and organs such as the heart, kidneys, brain, skin, joints, breast, eye, liver, prostate, and ovaries. Soft tissue calcification is associated with numerous chronic health conditions such as atherosclerosis, arthritis, kidney stones, prostatitis, psoriasis, cataracts, and many more. Millions of people are affected by soft tissue calcification; most of them do not know they have the condition.

"We recognized that soft tissue calcification and inflammation were at the heart of many health conditions affecting millions of Americans and that they could be addressed by certain ingredients found in nature," stated Grant Carlson, president and CEO of Calgenex. "We founded Calgenex as a research-based company that would bring together the best of science and nature to combat this pervasive problem."

Calgenex Corporation manufactures and markets dietary supplements, topical OTC drugs and personal care products specially formulated to combat the effects of soft tissue calcification and inflammation. Calgenex is located at 9950 Princess Palm Ave., Suite 320 in Tampa, Florida.
