CalCPA CEO wins Lifetime Achievement Award. (CalCPA News).

CalCPA CEO Susan B. Waters, CAE, has won the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Northern California Society of Association Executives. The award is one of NCSAE's highest honors and is given only in years in which there is a candidate who stands above all others.

"Susan Waters is one of the most highly regarded association executives in the field today," says Kerry Parker, NCSAE vice president. "She is at the top of a successful career of achievement that has spanned nearly 30 years."

Waters began her career in 1974 as executive director of the Prince George's County, Md. Medical Society. She was executive director of the San Francisco Medical Society from 1980-93. Waters left San Francisco to become executive director of the Massachusetts Bar Association from 1993-2000. Waters began her position as CalCPA CEO in July 2000.

Waters was the first woman to serve as president of the American Association of Medical Society Executives from 1988-89. And, she served as president of NCSAE from 1991-92.

Waters has been a fellow of the American Society of Association Executives since 1989, and serves as chair of its Public Policy Committee. She served on ASAE's Board of Directors from 1992-98.
