Cafgu nabbed in drug bust.

A Citizen Armed Force Geographical Unit (CAFGU) member and his companion were arrested in an anti-drug operation in Kapalong, Davao del Norte.

Police Regional Office 11 Director Chief Supt. Marcelo Morales identified the auxiliary soldier as Art Aban Amores, 27, a member of the 72nd Infantry Battalion detailed at the Salvacion Detachment in Mawab, Compostela Valley.

His companion was identified as Eleuterio Palmera Salazar Jr., alias Tata Lawin, 39, of Brgy. Mankilam, Tagum City.

Amores and Salazar were arrested by the drug enforcement unit of the Kapalong Municipal Police Station led by Chief Insp. Dexter Cuevas in Purok 12A, Cali-an, Barangay Maniki, Kapalong, Davao del Norte at around 1:00 p.m. of Tuesday.

Confiscated from the two suspects were a sachet of shabu, the buy-bust money, and other personal items.

Also recovered from the possession of Amores were one unit of homemade caliber .38 revolver loaded with six live ammunitions, a sling bag, and a motorcycle with no plate attached.

A case for violation of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) will be filed against the two suspects. Amores will also be charged for violation of RA 10591 for (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
