Caernarfonshire secure counties crown yet again; COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP.

CAERNARFONSHIRE will retain the North Wales County Championship for the fourth successive year following their latest 8-4 win over Anglesey at Rhosneigr, while Flintshire beat Denbighshire 9-3 at Chirk.

At Rhosneigr the morning foursomes were halved, with three of the four going to the final hole. Sion Thomas and Dewi Caughter and Jack Carter and David Glyn Parry won for the home side with Conwy quartet Mark Ellison and Nick Lofthouse and Lee Jones and Steve Evans keeping the visitors on level terms.

But in the afternoon Caernarfonshire won six of the eight singles, four of which again went all the way to the 18th with Eilir Angel, Lofthouse, Jones and Evans winning them all for the reigning champions.

Bull Bay pair Carter and Glyn Parry stemmed the tide for Anglesey in the last two games.

At Chirk Flintshire were always in control after winning three and halving one of the morning foursomes to gain revenge for their 9-3 defeat by Denbighshire at Mold at the beginning of the month.

There were singles victories for Prestatyn pair Lee Williams and Adam Delves, Rhuddlan's Jason Peake, Old Padeswood's Adam Nicholson and Steve Brown and Mold's Karl Lurz.

Mold's Alex Bradbrook halved with Wrexham's Andrew Bostock while Bostock's clubmate Wrexham's Alyn Torrence and Brynli Thomas from Denbigh claimed the home side's only two victories.
