Caerleon A narrowly pip title rivals; PETANQUE.

THE league's final week of action certainly produced some tight finishes.

Congratulations to Caerleon A who, despite finishing on level points with Wheatsheaf A, held on to win the league (for the first time) by the narrowest of margins (most wins in a season).

Caerleon opened the door by losing to Panteg, but both Wheatsheaf A and ROF A failed to take full advantage.

Ponthir A and Caerleon Greens are relegated.

In Division Two, Tradesmans won their last game to gain promotion, but also won the league by the narrowest of margins (most wins) after finishing level on points with Aber Reds.

Aber Golds and Red Lion B are relegated.

In Division Three, Rising Sun A are promoted as champions.

Wheatsheaf D beat ROF C to gain the other promotion spot after playing each other in what was effectively a winner takes all decider.

To highlight how close the division has been all season, NHSOB won their last game and moved from bottom to fifth - only four points behind second place.
