Cabinet to meet over school plans.

COUNCILLORS will hear on Tuesday how plans to amalgamate schools across Flintshire are moving quickly ahead.

In Shotton a new PS6.4m primary school is set to open in September 2014 on the site of Taliesin Junior School, replacing the school and Shotton Infants. The council's cabinet will consider approving the amalgamation.

The amalgamation of Hawarden Infant and Rector Drew Church in Wales Voluntary Aided Junior School is also moving ahead following consultations and the publication of a statutory notice. In Penyffordd, consultation has ended for the proposed amalgamation of Abbot's Lane Infant School and Penyffordd Junior School. Members will be asked to approve the publication of the statutory notice.
