Cabin crew course at City College.

YOUNG people can now apply for a cabin crew course at City College Coventry.

The NCFE Air Cabin Crew Certificate is the only course available in the region and has been assessed by airlines Monarch, BMI Baby and Thomas Cook.

To be eligible for the course students must be over 18, able to swim at least 23 metres, hold a valid passport and meet the height and weight restrictions.

The course covers the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew, health and safety, the crew's role in preventing and responding to issues, plus fire drills and evacuation.

June Glackin, course organiser, said: "We put the students through their paces to get on the course, giving them stringent interviews and written maths, English and general knowledge tests.

"The course incorporates real life examples and we use anecdotes and stories from our own experience to bring it to life for students, teaching them how to manage every situation."
