YOHAN CABAYE will be assessed today to see if he if he is fit enough to take on Wigan Athletic on Sunday.

The French star's night was ended prematurely when he went off in the first half against Anzhi with a groin issue.

But he watched on from the sidelines as his team won in dramatic circumstances as Papiss Cisse struck gold with the last touch of the game.

Cabaye told the Chronicle: "It was my groin, but not the same area. It felt tight. I don't think it's too bad, but we'll see tomorrow.

"I had surgery three or four months ago, and I want to be fit every day. We've played a lot of games, and maybe that is why.

"Before the game I was feeling well. I don't think it's a big injury.

"I watched the game from the dressing room when I went off, and then on the bench in the second half."

Cabaye could not contain his delight at booking a place in the last eight of the Europa League.

He said: "It was hard, but I was happy at the end.

"We went through, and the atmosphere was fantastic as well.

"For the team and for me, the night was great.

"It was another assist for Sylvain. He deserves it.

"Fortunately for us, we scored in extra time."

It was an additional period that United didn't need.

And the Frenchman said: "It would be hard to play against Wigan - who are fighting against relegation like us - after playing extra time. For us, everything was perfect."
