CYRIX CORPORATION BEGINS TRADING ON THE NASDAQ

 RICHARDSON, Texas, July 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Cyrix Corporation announced today that it has executed an underwriting agreement with Montgomery Securities and Cowen & Company as co-managing underwriters for the sale of up to 2,300,000 shares of Cyrix common stock, up to 2,200,000 of which are being offered by Cyrix and up to 100,000 of which are being offered by selling stockholders at $16 per share. The closing of the sale of shares is expected to occur on July 23, 1993. The shares will begin trading on the NASDAQ on today, July 16, 1993, under the stock symbol "CYRX."
 The proceeds received by the company will be used for general corporate expenditures and possibly an investment in a manufacturing facility.
 Cyrix designs, develops and markets IBM compatible microprocessors and math coprocessors for personal computers.
