CYPRUS: Alpen Invest awarded "Best Fund Management Team".

Cypriot-owned firm awarded by Capital Finance International

In yet another recognition of its outstanding performance, Alpen Invest, the investment firm that presented its portfolio and strategy in Nicosia this June, has been named as the Best Fund Management Team in South Eastern Europe for 2015 by Capital Finance International.

Headquartered in London, Capital Finance International (CFI) is a leading resource providing news, analysis and commentary on business, economics and finance, and this year's awards will be formally announced in an upcoming edition. Recognising that, as world economies converge, the traditional distinction between emerging and developed markets is now far less easy to distinguish, CFI addresses economic, political and business factors affecting these markets and identifies regions, industry sectors and companies that will succeed.

In their report, the award judges applauded Alpen Invest -- under Cypriot control since 2014 -- for putting place a number of comprehensive processes that "ensure risk profiles are properly managed at all times", and noted that the company also "closely adheres to transparent investment policies that are centred on client concerns and aspirations". They also emphasised the company's concern for investors, noting that Alpen Invest's professionals "strongly believe that Slovenian companies presently being privatised are significantly undervalued and thus offer excellent short and medium term upward potential". This year's award winners included German pharmacist Bayer, HSBC, PwC, and Baker & McKenzie consulting firms and MetLife Insurance.

The award further solidifies Alpen Invest's position as one of the leading asset management companies in South Eastern Europe. Back in February, Alpen Invest was also proclaimed as the best Slovenian fund management company for 2014 by Slovenia's most influential financial newspaper Moje Finance. Two of its funds -- "Alpen.Emerging" and "Alpen.Developed" -- also receiving top ratings, while the managers of the two funds were named in the top five Slovenian fund managers of the year.

"South Eastern Europe is on the move, and the prospects for growth are constantly increasing. In this rapidly evolving environment, we are delighted to have positioned Alpen Invest as a reference point for investors, and to be achieving recognition for our efforts", said Savvas Liasis, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Alpen Invest. "These awards are not only an indicator of the impressive performance of the company and the funds under its management; they are also a testament to the tireless work of the people working behind the scenes, to whom I would like to dedicate this award", added Liasis.

Alpen Invest is an affiliate to Elements Capital Partners, a Cyprus registered company that specializes in the purchase of distressed assets and private equity opportunities in South East Europe.
