 CYNTHIA COHEN TURK APPOINTED TO SPEC'S BOARD
 MIAMI, March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Spec's Music, Inc. (NASDAQ: SPEK),


increased its board of directors to seven with the election of Cynthia Cohen Turk.
 Turk is founder and president of Marketplace 2000, a consulting firm serving the consumer industries. Turk has over 14 years of experience consulting to retailers, wholesalers, and consumer product manufacturers and has provided retail consulting services to Spec's Music in past years. Her areas of expertise include market strategy and positioning, merchandising organization and systems, retail operations, market research, and image management. She is one of the leading national experts on electronic marketing applications. She is a frequent industry speaker on topics such as; "Retailing in the 90s," "Micromarketing," and "Remodeling the Corporate Image."
 Turk was formerly a partner with Deloitte & Touche Management Consulting. She holds a BSBA from Boston University. In 1988, Turk was named to the Academy of Women Achievers by the YWCA, and in 1989, she was named one of the "Forty Under Forty" top New York professionals by Crain's New York Magazine. She is a member of the National Retail Federation, the American Marketing Association, Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, the Urban Land Institute, and the American Society for Design.
 Spec's Music, Inc. is a publicly held company founded in 1948 by Martin W. Spector. The company is the largest specialty retailer in Florida of pre-recorded music and video product. The company currently operates 57 stores in Florida and one store in Puerto Rico which sell compact discs, cassettes, video movies and a variety of audio and video related accessories.
