CYCLE SPEEDWAY: Veterans mark milestone.

COVENTRY celebrates 50 years of Cycle Speedway in the city next weekend by playing host to the 2003 British Veterans' Final.

A large family crowd is expected at Hearsall Common, Earlsdon, on Saturday July 5 where a top class field of riders aged over 40 are due to compete, including hot favourite Dennis Hubble.

The Coventry Devlins Newsagents club re-formed two years ago, and organisers anticipate many riders from the sport's early days to be in attendance. The free event starts at 7pm and further information can be obtained on 07880 764026.
