CVS, HHS highlight health tool.
WOONSOCKET, R.I. -- CVS Health announced earlier this month its partnership with the Department of Health and Human Services to promote an online tool that provides recommendations from government-recognized clinical experts to patients regarding which personalized preventive services they should receive based on medical need, age, and gender.
Many of these preventive services are available to patients at MinuteClinic and CVS/pharmacy locations, as well as at their physician's office, and many are now covered by most insurance under the Affordable Care Act.
"We know that prevention is key to helping families stay healthy, so we are pleased to work with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to give people easy access to more information about the preventive services clinically recommended for them," said Dr. Andrew Sussman, MinuteClinic president and executive vice president and associate chief medical officer at CVS Health.
Commonly recommended preventive services include blood pressure checks, cholesterol screenings, and routine vaccinations.
