PITTSBURGH, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 14, 1994--Ansoft Corporation, the leading provider of electromagnetics based electromechanical and signal integrity design tools, announced today that it has redesigned its flagship EM product, the Maxwell 3D Field Simulator. Version 4.0 features major upgrades to solid modeling, pre- and post-processing, and mesh generation and takes advantage of recent advances in graphics hardware and software technologies to meet customers wish list.

According to Keith Franz, vice president of sales and marketing, "Since 1985, we have offered our customers state-of-the-art electromagnetic field simulators. With version 4.0, we are not only redesigning the system but redefining state-of-the-art 3D field simulation. By focusing on every detail from user-configurability to dynamic visualization, we are at once responding to customer requests and anticipating customer needs."

"I work in the design and analysis of magnetic devices for power electronics applications. The successful design of such components often depends on a thorough understanding of magnetic energy within and around the device. I believe that good tools for visualizing these fields and losses are critical for the development of high-performance devices. The products from Ansoft that I have used for this purpose provide a user environment that focuses on the results I need rather than on the details of the simulation process. The inclusion in the next release of their software of a more powerful graphics engine for modeling and post-processing promises to simplify the field visualization process even further," says Glenn Skutt of VPEC (Blacksburg, Virginia).

Ansoft's Maxwell EM 3D Field Simulator Version 4.0 is being demonstrated at Autofact, Detroit, Michigan, November 15 through 17, 1994 at Booth # 832.

Ansoft Corporation, founded in 1984, is the leading supplier of electromagnetic field simulation design tools and has customers in the automotive, magnetic recording, medical, semiconductor, communications, computer and aerospace industries.
