CURTIN MATHESON SCIENTIFIC JOINS FORCES WITH DAVSTAR INDUSTRIES

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Davstar Industries (AMEX: DVS) and Curtin Matheson Scientific, Inc. today announced a major multi-year agreement for national distribution of Davstar's Cen-Slide(R) 60(TM) urinalysis system.
Curtin Matheson believes that Cen-Slide 60 represents new technology that customers have been requesting and that addresses the needs of standardized urinalysis in today's safety and cost conscious laboratories.
Target goals have been established by Davstar's distributors. Davstar estimates that with its total distribution network in force, it could potentially obtain sales of approximately 60 million Cen-Slides within the next three years. In addition, Davstar will market the Cen-Slide 60 centrifuge, the Stak-Rak(TM), FloStar(TM) Collector Cup and other accessory items during this period.
 CMS: Leaders in Laboratory Supply
Curtin Matheson Scientific has been in the laboratory supply business since 1922. Davstar: Diagnostics Innovators
The Cen-Slide 60 System for microscopic urinalysis is a one-piece plastic combination centrifuge tube and microscope slide used in conjunction with a closed centrifuge. The system is faster and more efficient than the standard method because it minimizes steps in the sample preparation. A urinary collector cup, the FloStar, will automatically transfer the urine specimen into the Cen-Slide. Currently the Cen-Slide system is in use in hospital laboratories and physician offices in various parts of the country.
Established in 1985, Davstar Industries, Ltd. (AMEX: DVS) is a medical technology company that operates through a wholly owned subsidiary, Davstar California, Inc., based in Newport Beach. Its medical products subsidiary is primarily engaged in the development, manufacturing, marketing and licensing of innovative disposable medical devices for the hospital, nursing home, laboratory and physician-office market.
