CURRENT TECHNOLOGY FINALIZES NEGOTIATIONS ON SKIN CARE SYSTEM

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, May 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Current Technology Corporation (NASDAQ: CRTCF) today announced it finalized its previously disclosed negotiations with the developer of a new skin care system. In exchange for a 40 percent share of all profits generated by this venture, Current Technology will contribute approximately $2 million in start-up capital, it said.
The skin care system was developed by a prominent cosmetic surgeon. Current Technology expects the introduction of the skin care system in the fall of 1993 through direct television marketing.
"We view this as a synergistic addition to the company's focus," stated Chief Executive Officer Anne Kramer. "This product line is a natural extension of our core business of personal care and enhancement and fits with our ETG Therapy device currently under development."
Current Technology Corporation is the developer of ElectroTrichoGenesis, or ETG Therapy, a treatment for common baldness. The ETG Therapy device has recently completed Phase III clinical trials. Current Technology is also the parent company of CTC Communications, the publisher of Dermatology Times of Canada, and CTC Ventures, a manufacturer and marketer of consumer products focusing in the area of personal care items.
