CUP MANAGERS UNDER PRESSURE PART 2

SOME managers talk in riddles, and Roberto Martinez is very good at it.

So here's some plain, straightforward English - no beating about the bush. I think Everton will have to win the FA Cup to keep Martinez in his job over the summer.

On paper, Everton have a squad who should be pushing for the top six, but they have massively underachieved this season.

If Martinez (right) lands the club's first trophy in 21 years next month, he will earn the right to stay in charge at Goodison Park.

But with a new powerbroker, Farhad Moshiri, putting money into the club, he will want to call a few shots in return for his 49 per cent stake.

By all accounts Everton's humiliating 4-0 defeat at Anfield on Wednesday night was the most one-sided Merseyside derby for years.

And if John Stones was worth PS50million six months ago, he has gone backwards since then.

I would love to hear Martinez explain that one clearly - and not in riddles.
