CULLIGAN INTERNATIONAL DONATES OVER 40,000 BOTTLES OF DRINKING WATER TO THE RESIDENTS OF WASHINGTON D.C. TO HELP RELIEVE WATER SHORTAGE

WASHINGTON, Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Culligan International, one of the leaders in the water purification industry, will transport more than 40,000 bottles of pure drinking water to Washington, D.C. where residents must adhere to an order to boil water as a result of a possible contamination in the city's reservoir filtration system.
Culligan will package the drinking water in its Chicago headquarters and its Allentown, Pa., plant and transport the water to the 16th Street Oval off of Constitution Avenue (16th and Constitution) in Washington by Friday morning.
The Drinking Water Response Team of Culligan and the Corporation for National and Community Service will initiate the distribution of water once Culligan's tractor trailers reach the nation's capitol.
The Corporation for National and Community Service is assisting Culligan by providing over 30 Washington D.C. area Community Service volunteers to distribute the water to several distressed locations, including homeless shelters and retirement homes, throughout the Washington, D.C. area.
This is the second time in eight months that Culligan has assisted with a water contamination crisis in the United States. Last April, Culligan International donated 13,000 bottles of water to the residents of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Don Rosuck, chief executive officer of Culligan International Company, said, "We are more than happy to do all we can for the people in Washington. While it is unfortunate for a situation of this magnitude to happen at all, it is particularly unfortunate during the holiday season."
