CUE NETWORK CORP. ANNOUNCES EMERGENCY ALERT, A NEW PUBLIC SERVICE

DENVER, June 30 /PRNewswire/ -- CUE Network Corp. announced today that it will offer a new public service called Emergency Alert.
The new service, which will be offered free to the public, was demonstrated this week at the FCC Emergency Broadcast trials in Denver. The service will provide immediate notification over the CUE network whenever a public emergency warning is issued by state or federal authority. The warning will be immediately transmitted to all CUE pagers in the relevant area indicating that there has been an EBS alert, and the dial position of the station to tune to for further information.
Gordon Kaiser, chairman and chief executive officer of CUE, said, "It is increasingly important that individuals not listening to radio or television receive emergency warnings. We believe this new public service is essential for mobile workers, many of whom are engaged in critical industries."
CUE provides nationwide and regional messaging services throughout North America through the facilities of more than 300 FM radio stations covering more than 92 percent of the population of the United States. The company serves more than 90,000 subscribers through distributors as well as direct sales offices. CUE's distributors include leading telephone companies such as Bell South, Cincinnati Bell, McCaw Cellular and Century Telephone.
In addition to paging, the CUE network is used for a variety of non-paging services including real-time Differential GPS services provided in conjunction with Magnavox, a subsidiary of Philips Electronics. This service increases the accuracy of location information received from the Department of Defense Global Positioning Satellites (GPS) from 100 meters to 1 meter. The service is used in navigation, oil and gas exploration, automatic vehicle location, surveying and mapping.
