CTP issued 49740 challan tickets.

RAWALPINDI -- City Traffic police in its ongoing campaign to check traffic violations issued 49740 tickets and imposed a fine of Rs 1,85 million on the violators.

The Police also impounded 788 vehicles in different police stations on not having complete documentation.

Chief Traffic Officer Shoaib Khurram Janbaz said Thursday that traffic police issued 887 tickets to tinted glass vehicles last month and removed the papers of 8670 vehicles were issued tickets due to lack of documentation. Without registration 560 motorcycles were challaned.

The traffic police issued tickets some 1018 vehicles for wrong parking. 434 tickets were issued to the reckless drivers.

Traffic police issued tickets to the vehicles 3460 for not having driving license. 1239 public transport vehicles were issued tickets. CTO said that a special campaign has been launched against underage drivers and issued 1075 tickets to the underage drivers.

CTO said that strict action in accordance with the law is being taken against underage drivers besides imposing fines adding that their vehicles would be impounded in police stations.

504 vehicles were issued tickets to the violators of Lanes and 630 vehicles were issued tickets for violating Zebra Crossing.
