CTN BRINGS INNOVATIVE PROGRAM TO STATEWIDE AUDIENCE AT NEW TIME
TRENTON, N.J., Jan. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- In announcing the time change for the popular Friday afternoon CTN talk show Meadowlands Showcase Presents, producer Michael Raso said that "Innovative programs like Meadowlands Showcase Presents may be the answer to the common complaint that many television programs fail to challenge their audience."
Meadowlands Showcase Presents airs statewide on the Cable Television Network of New Jersey (CTN) Friday afternoons at 4 p.m.
The innovative CTN talk show Meadowlands Showcase Presents was created by two producers who decided to challenge their audience by bringing a unique program that showcases New Jersey talent to the state's viewers.
When producers Michael Raso and John Paul Fedele noticed that local cable programming was rich with interesting, down to earth people with unlimited creativity and talent they decided to tap that resource. Utilizing the production staff that they worked with producing commercial and local programming at Comcast Cable in southern Bergen County, Raso and Fedele on a non-profit, volunteer basis began to produce and cablecast Meadowlands Showcase Presents. The program was created to air performance material that might not otherwise be seen on television due to an artist's unknown status.
The show utilizes all forms of expression including music, films and skits. Unknown New Jersey rock bands, filmmakers, authors and singers are given a forum for their talents. Meadowlands Showcase Presents successfully combines skill, sincerity and experimentation into an entertaining and original half-hour program.
Upcoming editions of the program will highlight new music and videos. The Jan. 17 edition will feature the music of the Selves and Sum Idea as well as video contributions by Tim Graf and Jim Ryan. The Jan. 24 edition of the program will introduce a new Meadowlands Showcase character, "Trackman." The Jan. 31 edition, "Live from the C.D. Den," will showcase live acoustic performances hosted by Michael Cumella.
Meadowlands Showcase Presents debuted on the Cable Television Network of New Jersey (CTN) in June of 1989, and since that date has received an ever increasing amount of positive viewer response and requests for airtime by local talent.
When asked about viewer response, producer Michael Raso stated, "There is a tremendously good feeling elicited from cablecasting an artist's work and receiving viewer mail asking more about the artist, for the whole point of our show is to broaden the audience of such performers. Through these letters, we've learned that the local communities within our viewing areas are responsive to our approach and appreciate our efforts in presenting varied forms of talent from New Jersey."
