BUFFALO, N.Y., June 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Computer Task Group, Inc. (NYSE: TSK) ("CTG") today announced the retirement of John P. Courtney and the appointment of Gale S. Fitzgerald as president and chief operating officer (COO).
Both the retirement and appointment are effective July 1, 1993.
Courtney, also a member of the company's board of directors, served as president and COO since 1984. Fitzgerald has been senior vice president at CTG since 1991 and with the new appointment will also become a member board of directors.
"Since 1968 Jack Courtney has served CTG with distinction," said CTG Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David N. Campbell. "Under his leadership as president and chief operating officer, CTG increased its annual revenues from $83 million in 1984 to $303 million in 1992."
Courtney joined CTG in 1968 as a senior technical consultant. In 1973, he was named vice president of marketing, and from 1979 to 1984, served as executive vice president responsible for all field operations.
Prior to joining CTG in 1991, Fitzgerald was vice president of professional services at International Business Machines Corp. (IBM). As a CTG corporate officer, she has been heavily involved in corporate planning and policy formulation.
Campbell, said, "Gale is an executive uniquely qualified to provide CTG with leadership at a time when the company and the industry are undergoing dynamic change. Her operating experience, coupled with her strong background in the services industry, makes her an excellent choice for CTG."
"The foundation for CTG's improved performance is basically in place," said Fitzgerald. "We have longstanding and satisfied clients, an understanding of the dynamics of the IT business and an incredible mix of talent within the company. We are now refocusing CTG's service and structure to better accommodate our present and new clients. We are also taking a hard look at how we can strengthen the company's offerings while increasing shareholder value."
