 CSX APPOINTS PRESIDENT/CEO OF AMERICAN COMMERCIAL LINES
 RICHMOND, Va., May 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Michael C. Hagan has been named


president and chief executive officer of American Commercial Lines Inc. (ACL), John W. Snow, chairman and chief executive officer of CSX Corporation announced today.
 Hagan, 45, succeeds H.J. Bobzien Jr., who will continue as chairman of ACL.
 Hagan began his career with the company in 1970 as a management trainee for American Commercial Barge Line (ACBL), a subsidiary company. He has served in a variety of line and staff functions at ACBL, including manager of systems and programming, manager of distribution services, assistant to the president and senior vice president of sales. In 1987, Hagan was named vice president of sales for CSX's rail unit. He returned to ACBL in 1989 as executive vice president and was named president of ACBL in 1990. In July 1991, he was named president and chief operating officer of ACL. A native of Owensboro, Ky., Hagan earned a bachelor's degree at Brescia College, Owensboro, in 1970.
 Bobzien, 57, has been associated with ACL since 1958. He became president and chief executive officer of ACL in 1976 and was named chairman in 1991.
 ACL is the nation's leading inland marine services company and primarily serves customers along the Mississippi, Ohio, Illinois, Tennessee and Missouri rivers and the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway. ACL also operates marine construction, repair, terminal and communication services. ACL, headquartered in Jeffersonville, Ind., is a subsidiary of CSX Corporation (NYSE: CSX) of Richmond, Va., an international transportation company offering rail, container-shipping, intermodal, trucking and barge services.
