CSC Wins $20 Million Contract to Support Navy's E-2C Hawkeye.

FALLS CHURCH, Va., Oct. 15 /PRNewswire/ --

Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has won a contract with the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center (SPAWAR) to provide software engineering support services for the Navy's E-2C Hawkeye aircraft at the center's facility in San Diego, Calif. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract is valued at more than $20 million if all options are exercised over a five-year period.

The company will provide engineering support services for the E-2C Airborne Tactical Data System, including software development and life cycle maintenance, as well as hardware design, integration, prototyping and evaluation.

Approximately 15 software engineers, computer specialists, quality assurance personnel and technical documentation specialists from CSC's Defense Group will perform the work called for in the contract at CSC's Naval Information Systems Center in San Diego and at the SPAWAR Systems Center site.

The mission of the Navy's E-2C Hawkeye aircraft is to provide all weather airborne early warning and command and control functions for the carrier battle group. Missions include strike and interceptor control, surface surveillance coordination, search and rescue guidance and communications relay.

Teaming with CSC is San Diego-based Digital Wizards, Inc., which provides technical and engineering experience relative to tactical data links and various interfacing subsystems.
