 MIAMI, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Cruise America, Inc. (AMEX: RVR), the largest public company in North America specializing in the rental and sale of recreational vehicles will be relocating their corporate headquarters from Miami to Mesa, Ariz., announced Randall Smalley, president.
 The new site is located at 11 West Hampton Ave., Mesa, Ariz., a suburb of Phoenix. It is a 90,000-square-foot building on 8 3/4 acres. It is originally built in 1986 specifically as a recreational vehicle dealership.
 "The site has every conceivable amenity," stated Smalley. "It allows us to house our corporate headquarters, which includes our domestic and international reservations facilities, customer service and administration, as well as providing facilities for our current rental and retail motorhome business, already operating from another facility in Phoenix.
 "Eighty percent of our business is conducted west of the Rocky Mountains," added Smalley. The new location allows us better access to our fleet, operations and customers.
 "We expect that Cruise America's overall impact to the community will be in excess of $30 million annually," stated Robert Barton, one of the company's executives who has been working with the relocation process.
 "It is anticipated that as a corporate entity, Cruise America will generate an annual benefit of $21 million to the Phoenix metropolitan area, with an additional $9 million from tourism dollars generated by our customers. We will also be working to direct as much business as possible from our $60 million western operations to this new site.
 "The economic benefit will continue to grow as the company implements its plans to operate a regional service and distribution center and consolidate service and other support functions in the new facility," added Barton.
 "This has been a difficult decision for us," concluded Smalley. "The company started in Miami and our roots are deep there. But, this is an opportunity that presents itself rarely and cannot be passed up."
 The Miami Rental and Sales Operation, which is one of the largest in the company's network, will not be affected and will conduct business as usual. "From an operating standpoint, we remain committed to the Greater Miami area. This has always been one of our best markets," stated Smalley.
 Commenting on the relocation, Kate Klimow, business development officer for the Arizona Department of Commerce, stated, "This has been a great project for us to work on. The relocation will create some significant opportunities and benefits for the company and the state. We are very excited to welcome Cruise America and its management to the Valley of the Sun."
