CROWN CRAFTS ANNOUNCES EXECUTIVE ADDITIONS

 CALHOUN, Ga., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Crown Crafts, Inc. (AMEX: CRW) today announced the addition of two executives to its corporate staff.
 Roger D. Chittum, 54, a member of the company's board of directors since June 1992, will join Crown Crafts on Oct. 1 as its vice president- Law and Administration. From 1973 to 1983, Chittum was an officer of Tosco Corporation, with responsibilities at various times for technology licensing, government relations, environmental affairs, and mineral lands development. Prior to joining Tosco in 1973, he practiced law in Washington. Since 1983, he has been a business lawyer in a Los Angeles law firm. He is a 1966 graduate of Stanford Law School where he was an editor of the Law Review. Chittum will report to Michael H. Bernstein, the company's president and chief executive officer.
 On Sept. 1, Gary A. Goatcher joined Crown Crafts as director of Financial Accounting, reporting to the treasurer. Goatcher, 49, comes to Crown Crafts with over 20 years' experience in accounting and financial management, primarily as a senior financial officer for two California-based manufacturers of modular homes. In addition to managing Crown's accounting and financial operations, Goatcher will assume responsibilities for the company's investor relations activities.
 In addition to announcing the employment of Chittum and Goatcher, Crown Crafts announced that Paul A. Criscillis Jr., the company's chief financial officer, will commence a leave of absence prior to the end of the calendar year. "I have long been attracted by the thought of a mid- career sabbatical," Criscillis, 44, stated. "I am pleased that at Crown we have developed the necessary management depth to enable me to pursue this option. I am more pleased at the thought of rejoining an even stronger Crown Crafts some time next year."
 The company's treasurer, Robert E. Schnelle, will co-ordinate the company's financial activities during Criscillis's leave of absence.
 Criscillis and Chittum will both continue to serve on the company's board of directors.
 Crown Crafts, Inc., headquartered in Calhoun, designs, manufactures and markets bed covering products and related home fashions accessories. The company's two principal product categories are comforters and coordinated accessories, and jacquard-woven cotton products.
