 CROP GENETICS INTERNATIONAL ANNOUNCES SECONDARY OFFERING
 HANOVER, Md., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Crop Genetics International (NASDAQ: CROP) announced today that it has filed a registration statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission covering the proposed public offering of 3.5 million shares of its common stock, all of which are being offered by the company.
 Alex. Brown & Sons Incorporated will manage the proposed offering.
 Crop Genetics International Corporation is engaged in the discovery, development and commercialization of novel crop protection systems which substitute biopesticides for synthetic chemicals. The company's InStar(TM) Division, in cooperation with E.I. Du Pont de Nemours & Co. n (NYSE: DD), is developing insecticidal virus products to control a range of insect pets on major crops. The InCide(R) Division is developing plant vaccine systems in which plant seeds are inoculated with genetically engineered microorganisms to provide season-long and environmentally compatible pest control. The X-tend(TM) Division is developing bacterial agents for use in combination with reduced amounts of chemical herbicides to control a broad range of weed species. The Kleentek(R) Division has developed and now markets disease-free, high- yielding sugarcane seed products.
