CRICKET: Warne wraps up another Aussie win.

SHANE WARNE claimed another five-wicket haul as Australia snatched a narrow 27-run victory in the second Test against Sri Lanka before lunch on the final day at Kandy.

Sri Lanka resumed at 301 for seven, needing a further 51 to win, but they were bowled out for 324 as Warne grabbed two wickets and Jason Gillespie weighed in with the other as the tourists claimed the three-match series.

Sri Lanka's hopes rested with Chaminda Vaas who was 30 not out overnight.

However, after adding 15 quick runs, he pulled Warne straight to midwicket and Justin Langer completed the catch.

Sri Lanka skipper Hashan Tillakaratne later criticised Vaas for what he considered an unnecessarily risky approach.

He said: "I thought that when Vaas was dropped he would settle down and may be get it in singles but that is how the game goes and I must state it was definitely a loose shot."

Nuwan Zoysa arrived at the crease but when he attempted to hook Gillespie he only succeeded in gloving a catch to wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist and was out for a duck to leave the home side on the brink of defeat at 320 for nine.

And when Warne trapped Kaushal Lokuarachchi lbw for 16 to finish with figures of five for 90 it was all over.

Gillespie finished with figures of four for 76 as the Aussies go to Colombo next week for the final Test with the series wrapped up, having already won the first Test in Galle by 197 runs.

Warne said: "Personally I thought it was a great Test match and I thought they showed a lot of courage to come out and play the way they did.

"For us to have been bowled out for just 120 and to win the Test match was a great result."
