CRICKET: C and NW charge into KO final.

HOLDERS Coventry and North Warwickshire swept into the final of the Mortgage and Finance KO Cup with a nine-wicket thrashing of Bedworth at the Miners Welfare Park last night.

Jason Pyott (64) and Keith Bell (33) put on an unbroken second-wicket partnership to sweep past Bedworth's 96-6 in just 15.3 of their 20 overs - after C and NW had suffered the shock of losing opener Ed Hodson for a duck.

The Birmingham League Division Two East strugglers were always on the back foot against the powerful Premier Division outfit who fielded their first choice opening bowlers in Darren Altree (5-2-8-1) and Steve Ogrizovic (5-0-18-1).

No 3 Henni Joshi top-scored for Bedworth with 34, his brave endings ending when he was ran out, while opener Richard Eyles notched 19.

C and NW now meet Highway, in next Friday's final at Binley Road (5.30).
