CREDENCE WINS ORDER FROM SILTERRA FOR QUARTET TEST SYSTEM.

Credence Systems Corporation (Nasdaq:CMOS), Fremont, Calif., a manufacturer of automatic test equipment (ATE) for the worldwide semiconductor industry, has announced a first-time order from Silterra Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. for a Quartet One(TM) consumer mixed-signal test system. Silterra, a full-service semiconductor manufacturing provider, will use the Quartet for wafer sort at its new-state-of-the-art foundry.

Silterra's vice president of operations, KC Ang, said, "We are addressing the world-wide need for additional foundry capacity with our new facility in Malaysia. Silterra's goal is to help our customers get even the most complex system-on-a-chip designs to volume production quickly, which is why we chose the Quartet -- it facilitates volume manufacturing of high-performance, cost-sensitive mixed-signal devices," he said.

According to president and CEO of Credence, Graham Siddall, "This first-time order from Silterra demonstrates Credence's continued strength in the foundry sector in the Asia Pacific Region. Quartet is in high demand because of the large installed base at foundries and test houses and its broad application flexibility."
