CREATE A FUNKY FEATURE WALL; homes For a lot less than you'd think, you can turn your pad into a designer work of art By Caroline Cook.

Byline: Caroline Cook

Top tips for feature walls ? If you fall in love with a stunning designer wallpaper remember that less is more. Just a simple feature wall in a beautiful paper can totally transform a room. An average 3.5m length wall with a ceiling height of under 2.5m will only require two rolls of paper.

? Period rooms can look fantastic with a little creative ingenuity. Why not paper a faux book wallpaper either side of a chimney breast? Two recesses will require just one roll.

? Likewise if you fancy papering the chimney breast as focal point of the room, one roll is all you will need.

? If you are looking for small quantities, take a look at some of the vintage papers auctioned on eBay. There are some real gems and very rare bargains to be had from as little as 99p a roll.
