CRAIN COMMUNICATIONS INC. PURCHASES RCR PUBLICATIONS, INC. DETROIT, July 23, /PRNewswire/ -- Crain Communications Inc. announced the purchase of RCR Publications, Inc., publishers of RCR Radio Communications Report in Denver from Charles W. Cleworth, effective July 23, 1992. RCR, a tabloid newspaper issued 24 times a year, covers all aspects of national and international news of the wireless communication industry, including cellular telephones, paging mobile satellites, and mobile radios. "We are extremely excited to add a successful news publication in a high-technology field to our family of publications," said Keith E. Crain, vice chairman of Crain Communications. "We are delighted to add John Sudmeier, publisher of RCR, to our staff and believe there will be synergy between RCR and some of our other publications such as Automotive News and Electronic Media. We like the idea of expanding the cities in which we are located to now include Denver," Mr. Crain added. RCR is edited for wireless communication carriers, end-users in government and business, and those operating in the distribution channels including dealers and retailers. It focuses on general news, regulatory business and finance, and international coverage. Circulation is 20,000 worldwide. Crain Communications Inc. is a privately-held company that publishes 25 consumer, business and trade publications including: Advertising Age, AutoWeek, Business Insurance and regional business weeklies in Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit and New York.
