CQ'S WASHINGTON ALERT RELEASES U.S. PRESS; ONLINE ACCESS TO
CONGRESSIONAL AND POLITICAL ARTICLES FROM MAJOR NEWSPAPERS
WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Washington Alert, Congressional Quarterly's (CQ) online Congressional and regulatory tracking service, now offers a new database providing access to selected Congressional and political articles from 15 geographically dispersed newspapers.
According to Congressional Quarterly, an average of 150 articles focusing on Congress and national politics will be added to the U.S. Press database daily.
Newspapers include: The Washington Post, The Washington Times, USA Today, San Francisco Chronicle, The Denver Post, The Dallas Morning News, Chicago Sun-Times and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
"With the national elections upon us and political news rapidly changing, subscribers can easily research breaking issues and trends," said Edward S. Hauck, CQ director of marketing and sales.
"Because the articles are from top newspapers across the country and are chosen carefully by our CQ editors, a search of U.S. Press will give a quick, thumbnail sketch of what's happening in politics and how action on Capitol Hill is playing around the nation."
The U.S. Press database contains archived stories back to July 1, 1992. According to Hauck, "We archived these articles to ensure news from the national party conventions would be available to our subscribers."
Hauck also said U.S. Press compliments Washington Alert's other online information, including news from the CQ Weekly Report, the Congressional Monitor, Governing magazine and Reuters hearing transcripts and European Community Report.
CQ's Washington Alert is a congressional and regulatory tracking service featuring pre-publication access to Congressional Quarterly's award-winning coverage of Congress and American Politics. The release of the U.S. Press database will be followed by the release of a state legislative tracking database and the addition of Capitol Hill staff profiles.
