Number of Upper Respiratory--Cold/ Allergy/Sinus Tablets List Price Changes by Month

CPR reports that list price changes occurred in irregular intervals in the upper respiratory tablets category. RB was responsible for a significant number changes in July 2016, while GSK made list price changes in October 2016, and Pfizer and McNeil saw changes in January 2018.

Average Change in Retail Price by Select Upper Respiratory Tablets Manufacturers

GSK saw an average increase in retail prices over the last 3 years that was more than twice other major UR tablet manufacturers, averaging +9.7%, with similar changes in the food and mass channels. Chattem, P&G, and McNeil saw very little change in price over the last 3 years.

Select Upper Respiratory Tablets Manufacturers Average Margins by Channel

P&G saw the lowest overall margins in the mass and food channels, while Chattem saw the lowest margins in the drug channel. RB and McNeil saw the highest average margins in the mass, food and drug channels.

Number of Upper Respiratory Tablets New Products by Month

By far, the largest number of new products for 2017 were introduced in June 2017, with new products from Bayer, Genexa and McNeil. Washington Homeopathic also saw several new products in January 2018.
