CPI, COMPUTER POWER, INC. SELECTS MPACT-IMMEDIA ELECTRONIC COMMERCE PRODUCT

LIVONIA, Mich., Sept. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- MPACT-Immedia (Montreal: IFM), a multinational Electronic Commerce (EC) company, has announced the signing of CPI, Jacksonville, Fla., as a major customer in its growing base of Electronic Commerce users. CPI, the largest provider of mortgage loan servicing systems in the U.S., supplies a full range of computer systems for loan origination, secondary marketing, loan inventory management, and loan servicing. Clients have the option of using CPI's loan servicing bureau in Jacksonville, or licensing its software. CPI's software is used to service over 12 million mortgage loans. Additional major products and services are in development by CPI to enhance customer's operations, with an electronic clearing house for the mortgage industry being a key component.
CPI selected MPACT-Immedia's MessageWay product to enable a timely delivery and more complete set of EDI services for its client base. EDI products and services are expected to complement existing systems, improve client productivity, and contribute to achieving the company's market share goals.
MessageWay was selected over competitors such as Sterling Software, Texas Instruments, and IBM because it offered a complete solution that included facilities for communication, EDI translation, application programming interface (API), customer billing, and audit and control. According to Joe Kirby, EDI Project Leader at CPI, "The integration of these capabilities was an important consideration in our selection process. Our customer base is diverse but, being in the same industry, have like requirements for the timely exchange of data with integrity and security. It was important to us that all EC components be closely integrated and customizable." Kevin R. Jones, CPI's Technical Support Project Leader, added, "With MessageWay we have what we believe to be the best solution for achieving maximum benefits for CPI and its client base."
The company, MPACT-Immedia, is the result of a recent merger between Immedia Infomatic and MPACT EDI Systems.
