COWARD THE BRAVE; EXCLUSIVE The REAL hero of Flight.

Byline: By STEPHEN MOYES

THE real hero of the incredible Heathrow BA jet crash-landing was yesterday revealed to be a co-pilot with the unlikely name COWARD.

Senior first officer John Coward was at the controls when the engines failed and he glided the jet in.

His mum Myrene last night told how he shrugged off his heroics, phoning her to say: "It was a bit hairy - but everything was OK."

Investigators yesterday said the jet, captained by Peter Burkill, was flying over houses two miles from Heathrow when its power failed.
