ANTI-MASK protester Gemma O'Doherty was arrested last night after calling a garda a "gangster". The Covid conspiracy crank will appear in court next month over the incident, which she broadcast live to thousands of followers online. She was questioned by officers after challenging gardai who were removing a banner from a flyover spanning one of the busiest roads out of Dublin at rush hour yesterday. Pointing her camera at one of the gardai, she said: "How dare you. Look at this. This is a gangster." Officers had been taking down a massive sign that had been TURN TO PAGE 4 Covid crank ARRESTED bound to a footbridge over the N11 near Kilmacanogue, Co Wicklow. In the now viral video the controversial campaigner can be heard saying: "Look at this! Look at this! This is criminal damage." The former Irish Independent reporter asked one of the guards for his ID number. There were two banners over the busy road, one which read "Masks spread germs" and the other "No forced vaccines". Ms O'Doherty's footage also shows her accusing the pair of being "cowards and traitors to the Irish people". Before the arrest - which was seen by tens of thousands live on the internet - the footage shows the garda asking: "Give me your name and address now?" Gardai confirmed that the woman ARRESTED [ O'Doherty] who is in her 50s, had been in custody last night in Bray station. A spokeswoman said: "The woman was released this evening on bail and is due to appear before Bray District Court on September 21."
