COURT IN BRIEF.

AMONG the cases dealt with by Teesside Magistrates' Court on May 4 were: Amy Beddow, 23, of Woodland Street, Stockton, given a 12-month community order with a rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay PS226 compensation for theft.

Jordon Coates, 21, of Bardsley Close, Eaglescliffe, banned from driving for 10 months and fined PS80 with PS45 costs and a PS20 charge for driving while un-fit through drugs.

Stephen Robinson, 25, of Ellerby Road, Middlesbrough, banned from driving for 17 months and fined PS120 with PS45 costs and a PS20 charge for drinkdriving.

Michael Canwell, 35, of Bankfields Road, Middlesbrough, banned from driving for 18 months and fined PS200 with PS85 costs and a PS30 charge for drinkdriving.

Daniel Hanley, 29, of Bridge Street West, Middlesbrough, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a PS20 charge for theft.

Wayne Michael Harvey, 29, of Finsbury Street, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS50 costs and a PS15 charge for possessing a Class B drug.

Amanda Sharp, 47, of Finsbury Street, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS50 costs and a PS15 charge for possessing a Class B drug.

Eileen Whittingham, 71, of Aberbran Court, Ingleby Barwick, fined PS350 and ordered to pay PS85 costs and a PS35 charge for failing to notify of a change in circumstances affecting entitlement to pension credit.

Jamie Robert Edward Barry, 41, of Kesteven Road, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month community order with treatment and rehabilitation requirements, and ordered to pay PS85 costs and an PS85 charge, and banned from driving for 19 months for driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance and vehicle taking.

Hanna Jane Porteous, 23, of St Paul's Terrace, Stockton, given a 12-month community order with a rehabilitation requirement and ordered to pay PS85 costs and a PS60 charge for theft.

Craig Richard Hardy, 36, of Grove Street, Stockton, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS52 compensation, PS42.50 costs and a PS15 charge for theft.

Jason Lee Thompson, 42, of Myrtle Street, Middlesbrough, fined PS120 with PS85 costs and a PS20 charge for theft.

Lee Chaplin, 49, of no fixed address, given a sixmonth conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS80 costs and a PS20 charge for possessing a Class B drug. Christopher Martin Shepherd, 34, of Stainton Street, Middlesbrough, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS25 compensation for theft.

Michael Patrick Williams, 60, of no fixed address, jailed for six weeks and ordered to pay PS200 compensation for criminal damage and breaching a conditional discharge.

Paul James Donnelly, 30, of Bolton Court, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month community order with 120 hours' unpaid work and ordered to pay PS40 costs and a PS60 charge for handling stolen goods.

Callum Lindsay, 20, of Borough Road, Middlesbrough, given an eight-week custodial sentence and ordered to pay PS57 compensation for theft and breaching a conditional discharge.

Adrian Catalin Cadar, 20, of Beaumont Road, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay costs of PS85 and a charge of PS20 for theft.
