 COURT GIVES FINAL APPROVAL TO SETTLEMENT
 OF CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AGAINST NEWBRIDGE
 KANATA, Ontario, Sept. 23 /PRNewswire/ - Newbridge Networks Corporation (NASDAQ: NNCXF) announced today that the United States District Court in Washington, D.C. has given final approval to the settlement of the purported class action lawsuit which was brought against Newbridge, its U.S. subsidiary, and certain of its directors and officers in the first quarter of its fiscal year ended April 30, 1991. Agreement in principle to settle the lawsuit was first announced by Newbridge in December, 1991.
 As previously disclosed, under the terms of the settlement agreement a fund consisting of US $1.5 million plus interest from the date of the agreement in principle, and 600,000 common shares of Newbridge, will be delivered to counsel for the plaintiffs. Distribution of the fund to claimants will not commence until after Nov. 10, 1992 which is the final date for claims to be submitted.
 Newbridge Networks is an international company which designs, manufactures, markets and services multimedia, standards-based networking products for global LAN and WAN applications, all manageable by a single, graphically rich network management system. Facilities are located in Canada, the United States, Europe and Asia.
