COURT CONFIRMS COLORADO-UTE ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION REORGANIZATION PLAN

 COURT CONFIRMS COLORADO-UTE ELECTRIC ASSOCIATION
 REORGANIZATION PLAN
DENVER, Feb. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Denver Friday confirmed the consensual plan of reorganization for Colorado- Ute Electric Association, which was filed Sept. 26, 1991, by Public Service Co. of Colorado (NYSE: PSR), Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association and PacifiCorp (NYSE: PPW). In addition, the major creditor groups voted overwhelmingly to accept the reorganization plan.
According to the plan proponents, the three-way approach is designed to address the concerns and interests of all involved parties, while assuring rural Colorado consumers of reliable, long- term power supplies at reasonable and stable costs.
In general, the plan divides the assets of Colorado-Ute among the three utilities, with 10 of the 14 Colorado-Ute cooperatives becoming members of Tri-State and the remaining four purchasing power from Public Service Co. The two groups of co-ops each represent approximately half of Colorado-Ute's electric load.
The three utilities already have received approvals of the reorganization plan from the Colorado Public Utilities Commission and the Wyoming Public Service Commission. Other regulatory assurances have been obtained from commissions in states served by PacifiCorp.
Public Service Co. and PacifiCorp also have filed for approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. April 1, 1992, remains as the targeted effective date for the plan.
