COUNTRY: You'll like this Knotty a lot; GO2.

THE Knotty Pine String Band play Wolvey CMC on Sunday. The band has worked together since 1995, and have made a name for themselves as Ireland's bluegrass showband.

The band has a playlist which includes standards such as Blue Moon of Kentucky, Rocky Top and the Orange Blossom Special.

Contemporary songs include the likes of Something About You, from Kevin Welch and the Irish influence can be heard with reels and jigs blending with bluegrass banjo and fiddle.

The band are a four-piece group. Tony Hutchinson sings lead and harmony vocals and plays guitar, Pat Sharkey is on bass and helps with vocals, Declan O'Kane plays fiddle, mandolin and also sings and Seamus McGurgan is on Dobro, five-string banjo, guitar and vocals.

All have been involved in making music since the early 70s, with a wealth of experience at home and abroad. Appearances include television and radio and they are seasoned bluegrass, folk and arts festival performers.

If you appreciate good quality, a good time and good tunes then Knotty Pine are the band for you.

As I said last week this is a ticket concert only. Please bring your own food and drink.

Campbells Country revisit the Lonestar CWC next Thursday. This experienced duo have been playing country music for many years.

Their traditional style and material in their show always gets the audience's feet tapping and soon the dance floor is full. This duo are one of the best to come out of country for a long time.
