Outdoors: William Sullivan's Tuesday column on the new Badlands Wilderness Area said Steens Mountain was the only Oregon wilderness area created in the past 25 years. The Opal Creek Wilderness was designated in 1996. Also, Oregon Natural Desert Association officials say the "rifle range" shown on Sullivan's map is a model airplane flying area.

City/Region: A March 30 story on Page B1 about utility rebates for ductless heat pump systems failed to note that almost half the funding for the project comes from Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance, a nonprofit organization that encourages development and adoption of energy-efficient products. Members of the alliance include a dozen regional utilities, the Energy Trust of Oregon and The Bonne ville Power Administration.
