CORNUCOPIA RESOURCES LTD. MARY-DRINKWATER RESULTS

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Nov. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Cornucopia Resources Ltd. reports results from the highly successful drilling program on its 100 percent owned Mary-Drinkwater deposit near Silver Peak, Nev. A total of 16,538 feet in nine core and 53 reverse circulation holes were drilled between July and September as the first phase of a U.S.$2,200,000 million program to be conducted during 1993 and 1994.
The drilling program was designed to expand the area of resource potential around the previous workings and to test the northeast, down- dip potential of the detachment fault-hosted deposit. Drilling in the vicinity of the former workings has yielded a geological resource estimate of 1,640,000 tons grading 0.196 oz/ton at a cutoff grade of 0.06 oz/ton with an area of influence for each drillhole of 100 feet on an edge. Most of the holes completed to date are reconnaissance in nature and have separations between holes well in excess of 100 feet. If the areas between the current holes are assumed to have grade continuity between them as generally suggested by surface and underground sampling in this area, a very much larger "permissive" resource target is realized as shown in the accompanying table.

The Resource & Permissive section of the above table defines the target levels for the infill drilling program to be conducted in early 1994. Work is currently underway to refine estimates of open pittable vs. underground resource categories.
Drilling of two cross sections northeast of the main deposit area has defined an anomalous, shallow, northeast-dipping, tabular zone which may represent the down dip extension or sole of the detachment fault system. Further testing is planned in 1994.
Exploration activities on the Ivanhoe Joint Venture (Newmont 75 percent: Cornucopia 25 percent) have been concluded for this year. During 1993, a total of 88 square miles of the property was geologically mapped and 1,900 rock chip samples were collected. Detailed geophysical surveys were conducted over the Hollister deposit and the Hatter, Silver Cloud and Quiver exploration targets. A total of 30,320 feet in 11 core and 23 reverse circulation holes was completed in these areas. The Joint Venture Management Committee has recently approved a comprehensive 1994 budget for the Ivanhoe project of U.S. $4,649,000 which represents a 55 percent increase over 1993 expenditures.
Cornucopia receives gold production from the Ivanhoe property on the Carlin Trend, Nev., where it is a co-venturer with Newmont Mining Corp. in the exploration and development of the 84,000 acre property. Cornucopia is listed on The Toronto Stock Exchange (CNP) and is quoted on the Nasdaq Small-Cap Issuers Market (CNPGF).
