At Environ, Mr. Smith will assist corporate clients in establishing EH&S management systems and in assessing, benchmarking, and improving existing ones. He will also work closely with Environ's legal clients to provide companies expert assistance with EH&S auditing and compliance programs. As in the past, Mr. Smith will continue to stress EH&S management system effectiveness and efficiency through the application of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles and techniques.
Mr. Smith received his J.D. degree from New York University and his B.A. from Holy Cross College. Prior to becoming Union Carbide's EH&S vice president, he was a practicing attorney and legal manager specializing in environmental law.
