CORE BLIMEY; Scientists find secret second part to centre of the Earth... and sorry, Jules Verne, no dinosaurs.

Crust Upper mantle Lower mantle Outer core Inner core THE discovery that the centre of the Earth has two cores has left scientists doubly excited.
Experts on a joint US and Chinese enterprise have used seismic waves to map the layers deep inside our planet, with some startling results.
And while Jules Verne characters found dinosaurs and rivers in his book Journey to the Centre of the Earth, the team found the core has a secret inner core of its own.
Research chief Professor Xiaodong Song said: "Even though the inner core is small, smaller than the Moon, it has some interesting features.
"It may tell us about how our planet formed, its history and other dynamic processes."
Song told how the iron crystals in the inner core lie east-west while those in the outer core lie north-south - suggesting they were formed at different times.
The team used echoes generated by earthquakes and analysed how they change as they travel through different layers.
The core, which lies more than 3900 miles down, started to solidify a billion years ago.
Until experts are able to drill into the heart of the Earth, its make-up will remain a mystery.
