COORS PROVIDES FOUR TRUCKLOADS OF DRINKING WATER TO FLOOD VICTIMS IN ILLINOIS AND MISSOURI

GOLDEN, Colo., July 29 /PRNewswire/ -- A total of 15,364 gallons of Rocky Mountain drinking water in four trucks dispatched by Coors Brewing Co. is scheduled to arrive today to aid flood victims in Illinois and Missouri.
"The hearts of all of us at Coors go out to these people," said Peter Coors, chief executive officer. "We hope this water helps to ease at least one of their burdens."
The water, specially bottled at the Coors Brewery in Golden, is targeted for St. Joseph, Mo., and East Alton and Quincy, both in Illinois. Two truckloads have been sent to Northwest Beverage Co., the Coors distributor in St. Joseph, which will work with the American Red Cross to ensure the water is distributed to those most in need in that area.
Coors distributors in East Alton and Quincy -- Twin Rivers Distributing Co. and Haubrich Enterprises, respectively -- will work with the American Red Cross and Salvation Army for distribution of the other two truckloads of water.
Earlier this month, Coors sent shipments of drinking water to St. Louis; Des Moines, Iowa, and Sioux Falls, S.D. Coors has a history of providing such community assistance. Other past efforts include donations of bottled water to residents of Florida and Louisiana after Hurricane Andrew; residents of Hawaii after Hurricane Iniki, and residents of Danville, Ill., following drinking water shortages due to high nitrate levels in the city's water supply.
